As a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and a registered fire protection engineer by way of passing the NCEES test in fire protection engineering, Todd has more than 24 years of experience in code consultation for buildings constructed under the International Building Code, International Fire Code, and the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101).
Todd's experience includes the design and project management of life safety and fire protection systems including automatic sprinkler protection, water supply systems, fire suppression, fire alarm initiation and notification, egress analysis, and smoke control for both new construction and renovation projects nationwide. In addition to his experience working with Denver based mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants, as well as various contractors, he has experience through all phases of design and construction, ensuring incandescence’s contract documents will provide a solid bid parity, reduce opportunities for confusion and change orders, as well as providing a fair and clear scope of work for the contractors
Todd is a husband and father of two, an amateur musician, and one of the slowest but happiest runners you’ll find among the weekend warriors. He is passionate about food insecurity and serves on the board of Bienvenidos, a Denver food bank. He is at home in the wilderness, loves to unplug and walk among the mountains of Colorado with his children; if you have time, he’s got stories and pictures.
Todd has served for more than 12 years on the Society of Fire Protection Engineer's Committee for Professional Qualifications. This committee is charged with developing, disseminating, and maintaining an occupational competency standard for the fire protection engineering profession; establishing and promoting the profession’s Canons of Ethics; facilitating the development of new fire protection engineering programs and courses; and assisting in new and continuing accreditation of fire protection engineering and technology programs.
